All Natural Kitchen Spray

All Natural Kitchen Spray

If you have made my Orange Infused Rhubarb and Strawberry Compote, Mini Fruit and Nut Cakes…or you just like eating oranges, then this is a handy way to use up your orange skins!  It is ridiculously simple and you can feel good knowing that you have made a thrifty, toxin free spray! Yahoo!

Recipe
Orange Peel (you can use any citrus peels that you like)
White Vinegar
Water
OPTIONAL
2-3 drops of clove essential oil
1 tsp chemical free dishwashing detergent

Method
Place your orange peels in a jar and pour over enough vinegar to completely submerge the peel.
Let it sit for 2 weeks to ‘infuse’.  I keep mine in the fridge so that it’s not in the way but you can keep it on the bench if you would prefer.
After two weeks strain your orange infused vinegar into a bottle and discard the peel.
Now mix your homemade cleaning solution with water.  To do this use two parts water to one part vinegar.  For example you would mix 1 cup of water with half a cup of vinegar.
Pour your homemade solution into a spray bottle and use as you please! Voila!
OPTIONAL
To make a more potent cleaning solution, add the clove essential oil and dishwashing detergent to your spray bottle and give a good shake.  The dishwashing detergent is needed as a ‘carrier’ of the clove oil, otherwise it won’t disperse and will just sit in a little blob at the top.
Happy cleaning!
